The surgery is known as Varicocelectomy or Micro-Varicocelectomy (if done with the aid of operating microscope).

It is usually done under General Anaesthesia.A small incision is made on the abdomen in the lower part.

The vessels that cause varicocele are identified and ligated. This resumes the normal flow of blood and improves sperm parameters over a period of time.

There are no known disadvantages of varicocele surgery.

Penile Prosthesis Surgery

It is usually done in cases of shrinkage in size of penis either due to Erectile Dysfunction or other systemic disorders such as Peyronie’s disease.
It may also be required after prostate cancer surgeries and nerve injuries.
This surgery has to be discussed in great detail with the Andrologist as the expectations and realistic outcomes have to be in line.
